Abstract:
There is a problem that when luminance information is used for chrominance prediction in a separate coding tree structure, a chrominance block cannot be decoded until all of the luminance blocks that make up a tree are decoded. Provided is an image decoding device that splits an image into rectangular coding tree units (CTU) for processing, said image decoding device comprising: a CT information decoding unit that splits a CTU into coding trees CT, and in accordance with a tree mode, processes one or more color components as a single coding tree, for which one coding tree CT is used, or processes two or more color components as separate coding trees, for which two or more coding trees CT are used; a CU decoding unit that decodes a split flag indicating whether to further split the CT, and recursively performs block splitting; and an intra-prediction unit that uses a decoded image of one color component to generate a prediction image for a different color component, wherein when an intra slice, the separate coding trees, and a target CT size are larger than a prescribed maximum intra size, the CU decoding unit sets the split flag to 1 without decoding the split flag from coded data.
