Abstract:
An image decoding method performed by a decoding apparatus, according to the present invention, comprises the steps of: deriving neighboring samples of a current block; constructing a most probable mode (MPM) list of the current block on the basis of the size of the current block; deriving an intra prediction mode for the current block on the basis of the MPM list; and generating a prediction sample for the current block on the basis of the neighboring samples and the intra prediction mode, wherein the MPM list includes intra prediction modes of neighboring blocks as MPM candidates.
