Abstract:
An image coding method, apparatus, and image processing device, the image coding method comprising: determining to employ a palette mode or an escape mode on each pixel in an image region to be coded; determining the palette corresponding to the image region to be coded; each item of a first portion of the palette has multiple components, each item of a second portion has luminance components; determining a corresponding pixel index for pixels employing the palette mode; determining a corresponding coding information for pixels employing the escape mode; performing bit stream code on the palette, the pixel index, and the coding information. Thereby, palette-based codes can be applied to an image having a non 4:4:4 signal format, and a bit cost of the code can be reduced by further increasing compression ratio.
