Abstract:
Disclosed are an image compression method and device, the method comprising: firstly acquiring an information repetition rate of each image in an image set, in at least one image having an information repetition rate greater than a to-be-compressed image, using an image having a greatest similarity with the to-be-compressed image as a reference image for the to-be-compressed image, and then calculating and saving color difference information between the to-be-compressed image and the corresponding reference image, and the color difference information can serve as the compression result of the to-be-compressed image; accordingly, a compressed image can be easily decompressed to obtain an original image according to the color difference information and the corresponding reference image. Compared with the to-be-compressed image, the corresponding color difference information thereof occupies few bytes, and therefore, compared with existing method for compressing a single image, the present invention reduces redundant information between images, and improves overall compression rate of multiple images; the present application is applied to compression processing of a webpage image, and eliminates the limitation on the webpage loading speed due to the number of images.
