Abstract:
The present specification discloses an image conversion device comprising: a light dividing device configured to receive light corresponding to at least a part of a plane (2D) image, output a first part of the received light, which has polarization state 1, through optical path 1, and output a second part of the received light, which has polarization state 2, through optical path 2; polarization rotating unit 1 disposed in optical path 1, and configured to receive a first part having polarization state 1, and delay polarization state 1 by a 1/4 wavelength, so as to output a first part having polarization state 3; polarization rotating unit 2 for receiving a first part having polarization state 3, and delaying polarization state 3 by a 1/4 wavelength, thereby outputting a first part having polarization state 2; polarization switch 1 which is disposed in optical path 1, receives a first part having polarization state 2, and selectively outputs a first part having polarization state 1 or the first part having polarization state 2; and polarization switch 2 which is disposed in optical path 2, receives a second part having polarization state 2, and selectively outputs a second part having polarization state 1 or the second part having polarization state 2, wherein the image conversion device is configured to output a stereoscopic (3D) image including the first part output from the polarization switch 1 and the second part output from the polarization switch 2.
