Abstract:
An image converting method, device, and program for providing an achromate with color reproduction similar to that which able-bodied persons see by adjusting the color reproduction according to the degree of achromatopsy and the color distribution of an image without marring the gray scale of a natural image. An image converting method comprises a chromatic vision characteristic acquiring step of acquiring the characteristics of an achromate, an image statistical information acquiring step for acquiring statistical information on an image, and an image processing step for converting the image according to the chromatic vision characteristic acquired by the chromatic vision characteristic acquiring step and the image statistical information acquired by the image statistical information acquiring step. The image converting method is characterized in that at the image processing step, the image color distribution acquired at the image statistical information acquiring step is moved to a color region acquired by the chromatic vision characteristic acquiring step.
