Abstract:
The present invention is able to properly perform cutout processing on the receiving end at all times using cropping information. A container in a predetermined format, including a video stream with cropping information inserted in the header such as a transport stream, is transmitted. Interpretation information for the parameter values of the cropping information is inserted in a layer higher than the video stream. The cropping information can be interpreted properly on the receiving end based on the interpretation information, cutoff processing (cropping) can be performed properly using the cropping information, and image data can be generated properly for display, regardless of whether the image data is two-dimensional image data or frame-compatible three-dimensional image data.
