Abstract:
In view synthesis prediction (VSP), when a 12×16 or a 16×12 block was selected in a partition mode of a coding unit (CU), said partition mode being known as non-rectangular partitioning (AMP), a problem was encountered wherein a motion compensation block that is smaller than the HEVC minimum PU size is generated, said motion compensation block being necessary for 4×4 unit processing. The present invention reduces the amount of computation and improves coding efficiency in view synthesis prediction. This image decoding device, which generates and decodes prediction images for a target prediction block, comprises a view synthesis prediction unit that is used in view synthesis prediction and generates displacement. The view synthesis prediction unit sets the sub-block size according to whether the prediction block height or width is a multiple of 8. The view synthesis prediction unit uses the sub-block size to reference the depth and derive a depth-based displacement.
