Abstract:
An image decoding method according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: an image size extraction step (S301) to extract an image size (621) from a bit stream (620); a minimum coding unit size extraction step (S302) to extract a minimum CU size (622) from the bit stream (620); an assessment step (S303) to assess whether or not the image size (621) is an integral multiple of the minimum CU size (622); and a first decoding step (S304) wherein, when the image size (621) is an integral multiple of the minimum CU size (622) (Yes in S303), the image size (621) is used in decoding an encoded image signal (623) contained in the bit stream (620) to generate a decoded image (625).
