Abstract:
Provided are: an image detection device capable of detecting the position of an object to be detected, reliably and with sufficient accuracy; and an inkjet recording device. The present invention comprises an imaging means (26) and a detection means (40). The imaging means (26) has: a line sensor (265) that, by using a plurality of imaging elements (265a) arranged at element arrangement intervals in a prescribed direction, obtains detection values for the plurality of imaging elements one-dimensionally arranged in a prescribed direction on the surface of a recording medium; and an optical element (264) that diffuses incident light from within an ink droplet width being no more than twice the arrangement interval of the imaging elements, so as to guide the incident light to a range larger than twice the element arrangement interval, in a prescribed direction upon the plurality of imaging elements (265a). The detection means (40) performs position detection on the basis of the detection values for the imaging elements from the imaging elements (265a) having the incident light guided thereto from the image to be detected.
