Abstract:
Provided is an image recording/reproducing device capable of detecting a disc-removal error typical of a removable hard disc. A disc error detection unit (51) detects occurrence of a disc error by checking whether a removable hard disc (15) can be recognized. A mounted state detection unit (55) detects presence/absence of the removable hard disc (15) as a disc mounted state. The mounted state detection unit (55) may detect the disc mounted state from the detection result of a write protect switch (19) of the removable hard disc (15). An error type identification unit (57) identifies the error type of the disc error according to the detected disc mounted state. If the removable hard disc (15) does not exist, it is judged that the error type is the disc-removal error. An error processing unit (59) performs an error process in accordance with the error type identified by the error identification unit (57).
