Abstract:
This image display apparatus can make an illegally copied image unavailable for content by using invisible light which is not detected by the human eye even if an image being displayed is re-shot, for example, by a video camera. A liquid crystal display apparatus (300) comprises: a liquid crystal panel (310) that displays an image on the basis of an image signal; and a backlight (320) that emits light other than the visible light from the surface of the liquid crystal panel (310) while the image is displayed on the liquid crystal panel (310). The backlight (320) comprises: an RGB-LED (322) as a visible light source; and an infrared LED (323) as an invisible light source.
