Abstract:
To suppress a phenomenon of occurrence of oblique lines on a display screen during conversion of scan line directions of a moving image in an image memory. For accomplishing this purpose, an image display apparatus (1,1A) includes a means (105) that stores the image data of a first frame and the following second frame constituting a moving image and that has first through third memory areas; a means (103) that writes the image data of the first frame into the first and second memory areas and also writes the image data of the second frame into the first and third memory areas; a means (103) that reads the image data of the first frame from the first and second memory areas and also reads the image data of the second frame from the first and third memory areas, while converting a scan line direction related to the image data of the first and second frames being read to a second scan line direction different from the first scan line direction of the image data before the writing; and a means (200) that sequentially outputs the read image data of the first and second frames in a visible manner.
