Abstract:
An image display apparatus has a display screen and displays an image thereon. In the display screen, subpixels for emitting respective color lights are cyclically arranged, at least in a predetermined cyclic arrangement direction, with one cycle within a predetermined display pixel pitch. The image display apparatus displays an image, which is based on image data having a higher resolution than the resolution decided from the display pixel pitch, while suppressing the color difference from the colors expressed by the image data. Data corresponding to the subpixels are calculated by use of a weighting arithmetic that corresponds to superimposing the arrangement of data points on a deviated position such that the data points are offset from the centers of the subpixels.
