Abstract:
A television (1) displays an image by processing display data. The display data includes an image and a control script which defines a first function for displaying the image and a second function as the operation of the television (1) performed while displaying the image. The television (1) includes: a basic function execution unit (42) for executing a basic function program stored in a basic function program storage unit (29) and called from the control script; and a control script execution unit (41) for controlling the basic function execution unit (42) according to the control script so as to execute the first and the second function. The control script further defines correspondence between a user operation performed on the television (1) and the first or the second function to be executed by the television (1) upon reception of the operation. The control execution unit (41) executes the first or the second function corresponding to the operation received from the user. Accordingly, it is possible to easily perform a device function modification.
