Abstract:
Disclosed is an image display device which can control the shape and the reaching position of an electron beam with a simple configuration. The image display device has: a plurality of electron emitting elements, which are disposed in matrix, and each of which is provided with a plurality of linear electron emitting sections disposed therein, a plurality of gates positioned close to the electron emitting sections, and a gate connecting member that connects together the gates; row wiring, which connects the electron emitting sections of the electron emitting elements disposed in the same row; and column wiring, which connects the gate connecting members of the electron emitting elements disposed in the same column. Each of the gates is positioned on one side of each of the electron emitting sections, said one side being in the direction in which the electron emitting sections are disposed. The resistance value of the gate connecting member between the gate positioned on one end in the disposing direction and the column wiring is larger than the resistance value of the gate connecting member between the gate positioned on the other end and the column wiring.
