Abstract:
This image display device comprises: a light source unit (23) having a light source element (41) that emits light; a display panel that displays an image, and a light guide panel (25) that guides light from the light source unit (23) to the display panel. The light guide panel (25) has a collimating lens part (65) for collimating light from the light source unit (23) on an incident surface (43) where light from the light source unit (23) is incident. The maximum spread angle θ at which light emitted from the light source unit (23) intersects a main surface (65b) of the collimating lens part (65) is 15-60 degrees. The width of the light emitted from the light source unit (23) is less than 1/3 of the width (W2) of the main surface (65b) of the collimating lens part (65).
