Abstract:
Disclosed is an image display device, which has a projection lens (150) that projects an image on a projection surface, and an openable/closable lens cover (161) that covers the front portion of the projection lens (150). The image display device also has a focus adjustment control unit (320) that adjusts the focus of the projection lens (150), and an open/close detecting unit (160) which detects the open/close state of the lens cover (161), and notifies the focus adjustment control unit (320) of the result. The focus adjustment control unit (320) stops focus adjustment when the focus adjustment control unit is notified, by the open/close detecting unit (160), that the lens cover (161) is closed.
