Abstract:
Provided is an image display device capable of maintaining excellent optical properties even in a humid environment, and preventing decoloring. The image display device of the present invention is provided with: a display cell (10); a polarizing plate (20) disposed on at least one side of the display cell (10); and a sealing part (30) covering the peripheral end surfaces of the polarizing plate (30). The polarizing plate (20) includes a polarizing film (21) composed of a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin film containing iodine, and the moisture permeability of the sealing part (30) is 300 g/m2/24hr or less. In one embodiment, the image display device has a decolored amount of 100 μm or less after being maintained for 120 hours under an environment of 85°C and 85% RH.
