Abstract:

A drive-assisting display device (1) provided with a rear wide-angle camera (11), and an ECU (20) and a display (30) for displaying a rear image captured by means of the rear wide-angle camera (11), wherein it is easy for a driver to identify the area that is being displayed because the display control unit (25) of the ECU (20) and the display (30) display the rear image by dividing same onto right and left rear screens (204) and a center rear screen (202). It is easy for a driver to determine the distance between an object in the rear image and the vehicle (100) equipped with the device because the display control unit (25) and the display (30) do not display the same image on the right and left rear screens (204) and the center rear screen (202). The driver can see an easy-to-view rear image in which the distortions are corrected because the display control unit (25) corrects the distortions in the rear image displayed on the right and left rear screens (204) by means of a distortion correction process. It is easy for the driver to determine from where the object in the rear image is approaching because the display control unit (25) sets the shape of the right and left rear screens (204) so as to correspond to the distortion correction.
