Abstract:
Provided is an image display device having four color sub-pixels, which minimizes the degradation in color balance of an image when three-dimensionally displaying the image while causing no effect on the resolution of the image when two-dimensionally displaying the image. In the image display device, an array of a sub-pixel displaying a red color for a left eye and a sub-pixel displaying a green color for a right eye is replaced by an array of a sub-pixel (Lg1, 430) displaying a green color for a left eye and a sub-pixel (Rr1, 440) displaying a red color for a right eye. An array of a sub-pixel displaying a blue color for a left eye and a sub-pixel displaying a yellow color for a right eye is replaced by an array of a sub-pixel (Lx1, 450) displaying a yellow color for a left eye and a sub-pixel (Rb1, 460) displaying a blue color for a right eye. The replacement by the sub-pixel (430) and the sub-pixel (440) and the replacement by the sub-pixel (450) and the sub-pixel (460) are performed every two pixels.
