Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an image display device whereby crosstalk (sense of overlap, blurriness) is suppressed, the viewer of a three-dimensional image can easily recognize an image or character, and fatigue or discomfort is not imparted to the viewer. The present invention is an image display device comprising a display element (40) for displaying at least a three-dimensional image, a backlight (50) for repeatedly turning on and off in periodic fashion and emitting light to the display element, and a control unit (30) for adjusting the timing of turning the backlight on and off on the basis of the presence or absence of a display object displayed superimposed on an image displayed by the display element, and of the display position of the display object.
