Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an image display device enabling naked-eye stereoscopy, in which the cross-talk between a first image and a second image is reduced. In order to achieve the foregoing, the image display device is provided with the following: a first light source; a second light source; a polarizing unit for polarizing light from the first light source towards the viewing position of a first image and polarizing light from the second light source towards the viewing position of a second image; and an optical modulation panel having a plurality of pixels (141) constituted by a plurality of subpixels and for modulating, on the basis of a first image signal and a second image signal, light that has passed through the polarizing unit. The subpixels (141r, 141g, 141b) are formed into a shape such that the length in a first direction that is substantially parallel to a line connecting the viewing position of the first image and the viewing position of the second image is at least the length in a second direction that is orthogonal to the first direction.
