Abstract:
Provided is an image display device (1) comprising an image acquisition unit (7), a display unit (9), an object recognition unit (11), and an image creation unit (13). The image acquisition unit acquires a captured image of surroundings of a vehicle. The display unit displays, on the display device, a display image that is a portion of the captured image. The object recognition unit recognizes an object that is present in an area of the captured image not including in the display image. The image creation unit creates a superimposed image obtained by superimposing object display that represents the object, recognized by the object recognition unit, on the display image. The display unit displays the superimposed image on the display device if the object recognition unit recognizes the object. The object display includes (a) an area of the captured image including at least a portion of the object or (b) an icon representing the type of the object.
