Abstract:
The purpose of the invention of the present application is to provide an image display device capable of suppressing a change in the display state of a virtual image occurring in response to a change in the position of a viewing point. An image display device (100) according to an embodiment of the invention of the present application is provided with an emission unit (5), a diffraction optical element (6), and an emission control unit (7). The emission unit emits image light of an object image. The diffraction optical element has an incidence surface and an emission surface, diffracts the image light incident on the incidence surface, emits the diffracted image light from the emission surface, and displays a virtual image of the object image. The emission control unit controls the emission of the image light by the emission unit using image data generated according to a change in the display state of the virtual image occurring in response to a change in the position of a viewing point.
