Abstract:
An image display device (100) comprising: a first image projection unit (S1) that projects a first image; a beam splitter (BS1) that reflects some of the light emitted by the first image projection unit (S1) in a first direction, and transmits the remainder of the light in a second direction; a retroreflection unit (RR) that retroreflects the light that has travelled in one of the first direction and the second direction from the beam splitter (BS1) to the beam splitter (BS1); and a reflection unit (M) that reflects the light that has travelled in the other of the first direction and the second direction from the beam splitter (BS1) to the beam splitter (BS1), said image display device (100) also comprising an image forming optical unit (DM) that forms an image images the light reflected by the re-reflection unit (RR) and the reflection unit (M) in a space.
