Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to facilitate holding and using a light pen (50) in an appropriate location. To this end, in an image display system (100) comprising an image display device (30), a light pen, and a rendering device (40), the light pen receives emitted light which occurs in an image display unit (10), in a timing detection subfield, a y-coordinate detection subfield, and an x-coordinate detection subfield, generates a received light signal, compares the received light signal with a received light signal threshold and determines the present light receiving state, and outputs a signal which includes the result of this determination. The rendering device receives the signal which is outputted from the light pen and creates a rendering signal which represents the result of the comparison. The image display device displays in the image display unit an image based on the rendering signal which is outputted from the rendering device.
