Abstract:
An image display system (10) according to the present invention comprises a sheet-like glass structure (11) containing a light scattering compound, and a light source (20) that emits light onto one surface (11B) of the sheet-like glass structure (11), wherein the light scattering compound scatters the light and thereby presents an image on the other surface (11F) of the sheet-like glass structure (11). The present invention allows a rear-projection type image display system to present a high-contrast, high-luminance image while making a light source or the like arranged behind a screen less visible.
