Abstract:
An image display for allowing a viewer to visually recognize display object through a virtual image by projecting light onto the retina of the viewer in which the technology for displaying the virtual image is improved. In the image display, the virtual image includes a main virtual image (16) and an auxiliary virtual image (17), and the area for displaying the virtual image includes a main display area (18) and an auxiliary display area (19). In addition to displaying the main virtual image (16) in the main display area (18) in order to display the display object, the auxiliary virtual image (17) is displayed in the auxiliary display area (19) in order to display an auxiliary object separately from the display object. The auxiliary virtual image (17) is displayed in order to assist the viewer in recognizing the attribute of the display object, i.e. at least one of the absolute size of the display object and the actual distance between the display object and the viewer.
