Abstract:
The present invention relates to image encoding or decoding using intra prediction, and presents an intra prediction mode encoding method comprising the steps of: generating a candidate group including some of all intra prediction modes; and encoding index information for indicating an intra prediction mode of a current block that is a block to be encoded, among intra prediction modes belonging to the candidate group, wherein index values are assigned to intra prediction modes belonging to the candidate group, on the basis of a block shape of the current block.
