Abstract:
An image encoding method that includes a determination step (S301), wherein a determination is made as to whether the subject picture is a temporal sub-layer access (TSA) picture or a trailing picture, and an encoding step (S302), wherein multiple pictures are encoded in accordance with whether the subject picture is a TSA picture or a trailing picture. In the determination step (S301), when the subject picture does not belong to the highest layer and the subject picture corresponds to a first field, it is determined that the subject picture is a TSA picture, and when the subject picture belongs to the highest layer or when the subject picture corresponds to a second field, it is determined that the subject picture is a trailing picture.
