Abstract:
An image encoding method for encoding a block partition tree and color information assigned to all nodes in the block partition tree, including the root node, intermediate nodes and leaf nodes, when encoding an image to be encoded and expressing the image via a pixel or a block and a color assigned to said pixel or block, said image encoding method having: a partition tree generation step for generating a block partition tree by partitioning the image to be encoded using an arbitrary partition tree; a color information determination step for determining the representative color which represents a block being partitioned or a partitioned block which corresponds to each node of the block partition tree, and assigning the determined color as the color information which corresponds to each node; a tree-encoding step for encoding the block partition tree; and a color information-encoding step for encoding the color information.
