Abstract:
The present invention compares a reference value obtained from each patch with a pixel value of a surrounding pixel around each patch, when expanding an image via super-resolution processing using training data, generates a binary or ternary comparison code, and retrieves a high-resolution component patch corresponding to a binary pattern code or ternary pattern code generated from the comparison code. The binary pattern code may be used when a high-frequency component is included, and the ternary pattern code may be used when said component is not included. As a result, it is possible to improve the sense of high resolution by suppressing the storage capacity of the coefficient-data storage unit.
