Abstract:
Provided are an image formation device, a recording medium feed device, and a recording medium feed method for carrying out suctioned feed in an appropriate manner, regardless of the type of recording medium. The thickness of a recording medium retained in a retention zone on the outside peripheral portion of a cylindrical part having a plurality of suction holes, and having suction locations located in a given direction from the position of a shaft, is acquired; and when the thickness of the recording medium is equal to or greater than a first threshold value, the suction flow rate of suction holes situated in a subsequent zone outside the leading edge zone of the recording medium is designated as a first suction flow rate, and the suction flow rate of suction holes situated in the leading edge zone is designated as a second suction flow rate lower than the first suction flow rate. When the thickness of the recording medium is less than the first threshold value, the suction flow rate of suction holes situated in the retention zone is set to a third suction flow rate lower than the first suction flow rate.
