Abstract:
Provided are an image-forming apparatus and an image-forming method in which, in image formation on a medium to which tension has been applied, the deformation of an image resulting from the deformation of the medium is suppressed. The apparatus is provided with: an image-forming liquid application amount information acquisition unit for acquiring information on the application amount of an image-forming liquid; a tension information acquisition unit for acquiring information on the tension to be applied to the medium; an elastic coefficient acquisition unit for acquiring the elastic coefficient of the medium calculated using information on the application amount of the image-forming liquid; a medium deformation amount calculation unit for calculating the deformation amount of the medium using the tension information and elastic coefficient; and an image-converting unit for converting image data to converted image data showing a converted image formed on the medium in a state in which tension has been applied, and the apparatus forms an image, on the basis of the converted image data, onto the medium to which tension has been applied.
