Abstract:
This image forming apparatus is provided with an image carrier, an electrification device, a light exposure device, a development device, a transfer belt, a primary transfer device, a secondary transfer device and a cleaning member. The cleaning member is brought into pressure contact with the circumferential surface of the image carrier, and recovers toner that remains on the circumferential surface of the image carrier after primary transfer of a toner image. The surface resistivity of the transfer belt is from 6 LogΩ to 11 LogΩ (inclusive). The linear pressure of the cleaning member on the circumferential surface of the image carrier is from 10 N/m to 40 N/m (inclusive). The image carrier is provided with a conductive base material and a single photosensitive layer. The photosensitive layer contains a charge generator, a hole transport agent, an electron transport agent and a binder resin. The image carrier satisfies formula (1).
