Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to minimize any increase in the burden of work for a user in an image-forming apparatus in which cartridges containing cyan, magenta, yellow, and black toners can be replaced with cartridges containing functional toners to carry out special printing. In the present invention, a controller 50 causes four image-forming units 30a-30d to form a first printed image when the image-forming units 30a-30d have Y, M, C, and K cartridges 31Y, 31M, 31C, 31K. When one image-forming unit 30 of the four image-forming units 30a-30d has a special cartridge, a second printed image is formed on a sheet using only the image-forming unit 30 having the special cartridge.
