Abstract:
Provided is an image-forming apparatus with which it possible to curb printing defects by stopping a photosensitive drum and a developing roller from rubbing together when the developing roller, which should be positioned at a separated position, is positioned at a contact position. This image-forming apparatus 1 comprises a photosensitive drum 9Y, a developing roller 12Y, a separating mechanism 21, a sensor 24Y and a control unit 25. The separating mechanism 21 moves the developing roller 12Y from a contact position at which the surface of the developing roller 12Y is in contact with the surface of the photosensitive drum 9Y, to a separated position at which the surface of the photosensitive roller 12Y is separated from the surface of the photosensitive drum 9. The sensor 24Y detects whether the developing roller 12Y is at a separated position. The control unit 25 stops the image-forming operation if the sensor 24Y has not detected that the developing roller 12Y is at a separated position within a predetermined time after the separating mechanism 21 is operated.
