Abstract:
Provided is an image forming apparatus that can suppress wear of a contact of a drum cartridge. This image forming apparatus comprises a main body case, a cover C, a drum cartridge, a development cartridge, a belt unit 100 that includes an intermediate transfer belt 63, and a separation lift 120. The separation lift 120 is located at a first position when the cover C is located at an open position, and is located at a second position when the cover C is located at a closed position. The intermediate transfer belt 63 is separated from the photosensitive drum 41 when the separation lift 120 is located at the first position, and comes into contact with the photosensitive drum 41 when the separation lift 120 is located at the second position.
