Abstract:
An image forming device, which forms an electrostatic image on an electrophotographic photoreceptor by utilizing, as a means of expressing gradations, at least a pseudo-halftone process in which gradations are formed by dots, wherein: multiple recesses having depths of 0.5 μm to 5 μm and openings with a maximum diameter of 20 μm to 80 μm are formed on the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor; and when a square region having a side of 500 μm on the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor is extracted, the area of the recesses in the square region is 10,000 μm2 to 90,000 μm2, the area of a flat section contained in the area outside of the recesses is 80,000 μm2 to 240,000 μm2, and the arrangement (A) of the multiple recesses is such that an image quality degradation index (f), which is calculated by a specific arithmetic process, is not more than 14%.
