Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of suppressing the occurrence of moiré and a degradation in performance. Identification data, which is obtained by analyzing printing data and indicates whether or not periodicity is present, and printing data associated with the identification data are stored in a first memory region of a RAM (115) by a data compression unit (117b). Printing data that has undergone color conversion processing corresponding to printer printing is stored in a second memory region of the RAM (115) by a color conversion processing unit (117c) that performs speculative processing. AM screen processing is performed on the printing data by a screen processing unit (117e) that performs speculative processing. The screen processing unit (117e) checks the identification data stored in the first memory region of the RAM (115) by the data compression unit (117b), instructs the color conversion processing unit (117c) to perform color conversion processing corresponding to copy printing on the printing data when periodicity is indicated as being present, and performs FM screen processing on the printing data that has undergone the color conversion processing corresponding to copy printing.
