An image forming device which prevents occurrence of defective conveyance or a defective image due to the change of a conveyance speed caused by the durability and using environment change of a fixation means or a conveyance means and the kind of a recording material. The image forming device comprises a fixation unit which heats and fixes a toner image on a recording paper (P), a secondary transcription part which conveys the recording paper (P) to the fixation unit, a loop sensor which senses the degree of the loop of the recording paper (P) formed according to the difference between the conveyance speed of the fixation unit and that of the secondary transcription part, a CPU which controls the conveyance speed of the fixation unit, a paper fixation and ejection sensor which senses the used amount of the fixation unit, and an EEPROM which stores information on the used amount of the fixation unit sensed by the paper fixation and ejection sensor. The CPU controls the conveyance speed of the fixation unit by using of the information on the used amount of the fixation unit stored in the EEPROM and the result of sensing by the loop sensor.
