Abstract:
Provided is an image forming device, comprising: an image support body which is capable of supporting an electrostatic image; a developing device which develops the electrostatic image of the image support body into a toner image using a developer including a toner and a carrier; a replenishment container which is disposed replaceably, for replenishing the developer in the developing device; a concentration sensor which is capable of sensing information relating to toner concentration within the developing device; a replacement sensing unit which senses information for determining whether a replacement operation of the replenishment container has been carried out; and a control unit which controls a replenishment operation of the replenishment container on the basis of the result of the sensing by the concentration sensor. The control unit prohibits an image forming operation on the basis of the result of the sensing of the concentration sensor, and is capable of disabling the prohibition of the image forming operation on the basis of the result of the sensing of the replacement sensing sensor. If information relating to toner consumption quantity which is integrated for each image forming from the disabling of the prohibition of the image forming operation on the basis of the result of the sensing of the replacement sensing sensor is less than a prescribed quantity, the control unit continues allowing the image forming operation regardless of the result of the sensing of the concentration sensor. If the toner consumption quantity which is consumed after the disabling of the prohibition of the image forming operation reaches the prescribed quantity, the control unit determines whether to prohibit the image forming operation on the basis of the result of the sensing of the concentration sensor after the toner consumption quantity has reached the prescribed quantity.
