Abstract:
In configurations in which a secondary transfer member is used as a current supplying member and a current is supplied from the current supplying member along the circumferential direction of an intermediate transfer belt when performing the primary transfer, there had been a problem in which thinning of the photoreceptor drum at a station closest to the current supply member is exacerbated when forming a monochrome image or when the printing speed changes. The present invention provides an image forming device that includes a plurality of contact members and a voltage maintaining element, which is connected to tension members and is for maintaining the surface potential of an intermediate transfer body, and that performs the primary transfer of a toner image from the photoreceptor to the intermediate transfer body using the current supplied from the secondary transfer member and then performs the secondary transfer of the toner image to a transfer material. The image forming device is characterized in that a first current supplied from the second transfer member to the intermediate transfer body in the monochrome mode is set smaller than a second current supplied from the second transfer member to the intermediate transfer body in the color mode.
