Abstract:
An image-forming device 100 in which a second charging potential Vd (L) formed by a second corona charger 32 on the surface of a photoreceptor 1 is superimposed onto a first charging potential Vd (U) formed by a first corona charger 31 on the surface of the photoreceptor 1 and a synthesized surface potential Vd (U+L) is formed, whereby a charging process is performed on the photoreceptor 1, wherein the image-forming device 100 has a control means 200 for performing an adjustment operation of: varying the second voltage Vg(L) applied to a grid electrode of the second corona charger 32 while the first charging potential Vd(U) is formed on the surface of the photoreceptor 1; obtaining a superimposition start voltage Vg(L)A, which is the second voltage Vg(L) at which the formation of the synthesized surface potential Vd (U+L) starts; and adjusting the setting of the second voltage Vg(L) during the charging process on the basis of the superimposition start voltage Vg(L).
