Abstract:
An image forming device is provided with: a power supply roller that rotates in contact with a transfer roller at a position different from a secondary transfer unit and is capable of supplying current to the transfer roller for transferring a toner image by the secondary transfer unit; and a control unit for implementing a cleaning mode (step S10) for cleaning the power supply roller by applying a reverse polarity bias to the power supply roller and transferring toner attached to the power supply roller to an intermediate transfer belt via the transfer roller. Letting t1 be the rotation time for the transfer roller and t2 be the rotation time for the power supply roller, the control unit implements the cleaning mode (step S14) with a period for continuously applying the reverse polarity bias to the power supply roller of (t1 + t2) or greater.
