Abstract:
A polygon motor (41) rotates a polygon mirror (23) that scans a laser beam. A controller (31): specifies a waiting time period for an acceleration time period from a drive start time point of the polygon motor (41) to a time point at which the rotation speed of the polygon motor (41) has reached a target value; and permits creation of an image using the laser beam after the elapse of the waiting time period from the time point at which the rotation speed of the polygon motor (41) has reached the target value.
