Abstract:
The present invention is provided with: a photoreceptor (20Y-20K); a rotatable developer carrier (54) which carries a liquid developer comprising a toner and a carrier liquid and in which an electrostatic latent image formed on the photoreceptor (20Y-20K) as a result of voltage application is developed by a developing part; a supply unit (53) which supplies the liquid developer to the developer carrier (54); a deposition electrode (51) which is provided on the downstream side of the supply unit (53) in the rotational direction of the developer carrier (54) and which, as a result of voltage application, deposits the supplied liquid developer on the developer carrier (54); an abutment roller (52) which is disposed on the downstream side of the deposition electrode (51) and on the upstream side of the developing part in the rotational direction and which abuts against the developer carrier (54); a cleaning roller (58) which is disposed on the downstream side of the developing part and on the upstream side of the supply unit (53) in the rotational direction and which abuts against the developer carrier (54) to remove any toner left on the developer carrier following development; a removal member (56) which abuts against the cleaning roller (58) so as to remove the toner on the cleaning roller; and a control part (110) which, having rotated the developer carrier (54) for a prescribed period of time following the termination of an image-forming operation while keeping the potential difference between the deposition electrode (51) and the developer carrier (54) at zero or less than that during image formation, is capable of effecting a stop mode in which the rotation of the developer carrier (54) is brought to a halt.
