Abstract:
In this image forming device 1, an image control unit 211 generates a detection luminescence signal 45 for forming detection luminescence, and transmits the detection luminescence signal 45 to a laser control unit 213 via a flexible flat cable 203, and the laser control unit 213 causes a semiconductor laser 12 to emit light in accordance with the detection luminescence signal 45, and determines, on the basis of a PD signal 43 outputted from a PD 201 that has received a light beam, whether or not a connection failure has occurred in the flexible flat cable 203.
