Abstract:
Provided is an image forming device with which it is possible to minimize deterioration in the fixing properties of a toner image on a print medium due to the temperature of the environment in which the image forming device is installed. A toner image formation unit 4 forms a toner image on a print medium S. The toner image formation unit 4 has an image carrier 6 and a transfer unit 10. A fixing unit 5 fixes the toner image on the print medium S by applying a fixing solution to the print medium S that has been transported thereto by the image carrier 6 and the transfer unit 10. A heater 23 heats the print medium S that has passed the fixing unit 5. A temperature sensor 22 measures the temperature inside a housing body 2. If the temperature T measured by the temperature sensor 22 is higher than a prescribed threshold value T1, a control unit 25 controls the image carrier 6 and the transfer unit 10 such that the transport speed of the print medium S becomes a first transport speed. If the temperature T is lower than the threshold value T1, the control unit 25 controls the image carrier 6 and the transfer unit 10 such that the transport speed of the print medium S becomes a second transport speed slower than the first transport speed.
